Elisha Ben-Yitzhak - Artist
Elisha was born in Kibbutz Kfar Blum in the Upper Galilee in Israel. Elisha studied art at Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem and at the Avni Art Institute in Tel Aviv.
Elisha’s oil paintings, sketches, acrylic and watercolors have been exhibited in galleries in Israel, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Great Britain, Switzerland, Spain and the United States, and have been well received by critics. Galleries, museums and private collectors have acquired many of his works.
Elisha’s pictures have a unique and independent style of their own with so much rhythm. Most of his images, combining both figurative and surrealistic elements, are as if they were taken from a different world, but yet strikingly realistic and appealing. When looking at Elisha’s paintings you feel certain warmth radiating from the different colors. As one gazes, one is lulled by the lyrical composition of the delicate lines. These colors have an impact similar to the effect of pastels in the work of great impressionists. Elisha expresses his feelings, emotions and personal experiences through most astonishing paintings, which are revered around the world and considered extraordinary. The more you gaze at these paintings, the more you love them, so much so that you cannot help but be affected by the artist’s romanticism.

Elisha's Personal Comments
"Since a young age, painting and sculpturing have been a major part of my life and my whole being. All my paintings reflect personal experiences and symbols of life in general. I have always strived to reach the ultimate balance in composition and colors. The struggle of making a society more understanding of my art and artists in general has followed me wherever I went in life. Thankfully, my determination and deep desire to create resulted in a much greater understanding. Private art collectors, galleries and museums around the world have acquired many of my paintings.
I hope you will enjoy viewing my paintings. Your impressions are very important to me."
